I have worked in the art department for over 20 years. Prior to film I studied literature and industrial design. I also cooked professionally and I was a modern dancer for a short period of time. The common thread in everything I have pursued is story. I am passionate about good storytelling. As a designer in film my main objective is to tell the most revealing, true and compelling story I can. I have been fortunate in my career to have worn many different hats within the art department and worked on both big and small productions - some where I have built sets in my backyard and others that required a crew of a few hundred people to realize the vision. I am proud of the understanding I have cultivated to make great work that tells a fantastic story within the contraints of any given project.
